OCTOBER 2016 - SEHT
Account in Pakistan
During the last visit by
the chairperson to Pakistan in March 2016, it became evident that it
would not be possible to
register SEHT as a charitable organisation
in Pakistan because of the country’s significant regulatory
obstacles. Since it was inappropriate to continue to use a personal
account for managing the donated funds, it became necessary to find
alternatives. The trustees decided at the time to seek collaboration
with a registered charity.
At the AGM on 29 October
2016 Dr Raoof sought and
received the Trustees’ approval of the new account handling
arrangements in Pakistan with the Decent Welfare Society. This is a
well established, registered charitable organisation based in Gujrat,
already
running some unique and major international projects in Pakistan
which includes:
-
Cleft centre (free plastic surgery hospital for patients with
cleft Lip and Palate)
-
Breast Cancer Awareness campaign
-
Artificial Limb Centre
-
Vocational
Training Institute
-
Interest free Micro credit Program
-
Mid wifery Training Centre
